Story Swap with Rosann Coulon
I love a good story! Stories captivate our imaginations, impact our lives, and have the ability to shift whole cultures. Swapping stories with a sweet friend over a cuppa hot something is just the best. It's a joy to welcome Rosann Coulon to Story Swap today! (Every Saturday I post a Story Swap feature on my Instagram).

1. Tell me a little bit about yourself. What does a typical day look like for you?
A typical day for me starts out with coffee and Bible reading. This is where I listen to God through His Word and make notes of the things that He whispers to my heart. I end my time in prayer and praise. From there, I spend much of my day writing Christian content for my website or guest submissions. I try to break for walks and, if the weather permits, I enjoy soaking up sun rays on my balcony porch. This is typical (all but two days a week) as I also work as a part-time Archive Specialist at the Billy Graham Research and Archive Center. The word nerd in me enjoys processing archival materials, and I count it an honor to work with an organization with such rich missional history. At the end of the day, I enjoy cooking dinner and spending time with my husband, Rolland. Rolland and I will celebrate twenty years of marriage this year. God has blessed us abundantly.
2. When and how did you meet Jesus?
Jesus became my personal Saviour when I was three years old. It's always hard to believe that one so young could understand, but it's true that the gospel is so simple that a child can understand. Although I've failed many times, my greatest desire is to love the Lord with all my heart and to follow in His ways.
3. What are you passionate about?
I am passionate about sharing hope-filled words with those who find themselves in hard seasons. After suffering many years with chronic illness and a host of other hardships, I know that God is always faithful. But when we find ourselves in those dark situations, it can be hard to hold on to that truth. I desire to pour the hope of Jesus into the most discouraged heart. I know that He is good, faithful, and present in the lives of His children.
4. How are you making the most of your current season of life?
I am making the most of my current season by resting in God's provision for all of my needs and waiting for His timing for the requests that I'm laying at His feet. And I'm working to walk out the path that He has laid before me in ministry for Him.
5. How do you prioritize the Word of God?
I prioritize the Word of God by going to it first thing in the morning. Along with that, I have scripture cards posted on my refrigerator and at my desk that remind me of the truths that my heart needs to hear. I know the Word is alive and active. We can use it to speak life into the struggling places of our hearts.
6. What has God been speaking to you about and how has He moved in your life recently?
God has been speaking to me about waiting on Him. Waiting is hard for me to do, but He is allowing me to see the blessings that I have come out of my past waiting seasons. Looking at the blessings of how He showed up, brought good from the worst situations, and remained faithful gives me the grace I need to wait on Him for the needs that I have today.
7. What is the biggest thing you've had to trust God with?
One of the biggest things that I've had to trust God with was my health. Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Syndrome disabled me for 15 years. During that time, many of the dreams that I had for my life dissipated and I found myself shattered by disappointment. Through the grace and patience of Jesus, I learned to rest in the goodness of the Lord's plan for my life. He is always good, faithful, and working out a far greater purpose than I can imagine.
8. What story is God writing with your life?
My life is a story of God's faithfulness. I praise Him for remaining with me in the darkest times.
